With the EXPERTE.com Browser Privacy Check you can determine which traces you or your browser leave while surfing. The test is intended to raise awareness of which data can be used by websites and advertisers to create a profile of you or to track your activities across multiple pages.
To start the test, please click on the button above.
Connection
The Browser Check tries to determine your local IP address (via WebRTC) and your DNS server in addition to your public IP address. We also check whether you are accessing the site via a known proxy or Tor and whether your IP address was considered suspiscious in the past.
Location
We use your IP address to determine your location and other location-related data.
Ads & Tracker
We check whether your browser allows advertisements and trackers.
Social Media
We use a trick to check which social networks you are currently logged in to.
Hardware
We determine information about your hardware - this includes CPU and GPU as well as the current battery status.
Software
In addition to the hardware, we also determine the software used. This includes the operating system, browser and plugins used.
Fingerprint
From all this information, we generate a browser fingerprint that is specific to your browser. With a test we show you that you can also be tracked in the incognito mode of your browser.
For each category, the Browser Check displays an explanation and a possible solution that can prevent tracking.
We take the protection of your data very seriously. In order to determine the data, however, we must make inquiries about some external services such as Google Analytics. Please do not start the test if you do not agree. With the exception of the browser fingerprint (and only after active confirmation from you), we do not store any of the data we have collected.
